SIMULATION : BORAT

It's very hard topic in this lecture, simulation, I don't understand it so much. The thing that I understand about simulation is people try to simplify communication with other people. So, they produce something that people can understand or perceive easily. That thing is simulation and nowadays simulation's technology develop a lot, we can not realize what is reality and what is simulation. This is called hyperreal.

It's the same with Borat, He is a main actor in this film ,and he only express the characteristic of the character that the director want. He won't be like in the film in his real life. I mean his real characteristic may absolutely different with the film.

I have seen another movie that relate with the simulation that is The Matrix. First time, I can not know that the main character is in the simulation world if the movie not answer. The character also don't know where he is. He thinks he is on the real world because he can not discern between reality and simulation. And his case, real world and simulation world are absolutely different.

So, I learn one fact from this two movies " The scene that we can see doesn't mean to what we see" even in the real world, we can not believe in what we perceive so much.

THE END OF CLASSICAL : LANGUAGE

My understanding, language is signs, symbols or something that people or things communicate with other thing. The languages help people understand each other and understand everything around them.
And architecture is another language that try to communicate with people by architects. People can understand architecture differently same as they understand language different from other people even their own language, depend on their experience and perspective.

In the classical period, people used the mythology to be inspiration and express in realistic [maybe] They tried to show the aesthetic in idealism way. Most of work in that period are very beautiful as they intention.
In modern period, architects use normal and less style to express the aesthetic, and it beautiful as works in the classical also.

From above, I understand that language and architecture can connect to each other but in the end, I still don't understand about "everything is nothing" because I think everything connect together so why "everything is nothing" why not "everything is thing"

MANUFACTURED LANDSCAPES LAST CHAPTER

This topic is continue from the previous "Manufactured Landscapes".
So I will talk about the opposite one of manufactured landscapes that is "Natural Landscapes".
What is the difference of Manufactured Landscapes and Natural Landscapes?



If this question was asked before last week, the answer will be the same as previous chapter of manufactured landscapes but now I have another perspective of the answer.
Generally, natural landscapes is nature that we can not know exactly about it's producer, maybe god make the nature... I mean we don't know why the water fall like that, why don't they fall into another way. so, nature is the environments [or something] we can not control them or we can control some of them hardly.
manufactured landscapes is another thing that opposite with the nature as I said. It is everything that humanity produce and absolutely control them such as building, vehicle and etc. You can see the difference of 2 things but in the end, everything reverses.
Because of high technologies and comfortable things make humanity lazy and merge with them in daily life. Manufactured process can not stop. I mean we can not control them anymore. Because of that reason manufactured landscapes become "Artificial Natural Landscapes".
As you can see from the video lecture, manufactured item is blend and can not separate with the nature already.

If one type of landscapes is missing, people will be alive? The answer is no but not absolutely no. You can see the painting of the man who stand between nature and building it means they know since that period they can not separate with nature. And if the nature is missing, people may use manufactured process to make the nature again.

MANUFACTURED LANDSCAPES

The movies "MANUFACTURED LANDSCAPES" is the interesting movie I never seen before because it shows the truth of human's action to the world and another side of high technologies that I never know if I did not see the movie. The movie remind me to think

"What is landscape? and What is not landscape?" The reason that I have to think about landscape because the word "landscape" in my understanding is some kind of nature around me and make me comfortable, healthy and happy. Moreover, it have beauty in their own such as the picture below

but the meaning of the word "landscape" after I see the movie is every condition of environment around me can call landscape even it makes me uncomfortable, unhappy and destroy other landscapes.

For the question What is not landscape?, I can not answer this question because every condition of environment is landscape so I don't know the answer but it may be things that are not environment. I mean it is not be landscape also. What is that things is puzzle for me.


Another thing the movie remind me to think is "Why they abandon to restore the environment and manage the manufactured item" I accept that some of the scene is beautiful but it hide the death and destroying the nature slowly. For examples

so I think they should restore the environment that they destroy for save the world. There are many way to manage the garbage such as recycle, reproduce and etc. Then the manufactured landscape will be natural landscape in the end.
